Where Gardens Grow

Nestled on 173 acres at the base of eastern Long Island’s forks (an agricultural area home to grape, produce, and B&B growers), our nursery benefits from an ideal growing climate with consistent gentle breezes. Because our diverse line of ornamental shrubs, grasses, perennials, vines, and trees are grown on Long Island, they are well-suited to planting in the northeast.

After our most recent expansion, we have more than 2,000,000 square feet of cold frame growing space, over 200,000 square feet of seasonal pads, and more than 25,000 square feet of climate-controlled propagation facilities. This allows us to offer hundreds of different cultivars of both classic favorites and new introductions, currently available in 8 different container sizes.

As our production capacity has grown, so has our staff. As a customer service driven company, I am proud to have taken great care in assembling a staff that reflects our commitment to our customers and takes pride in the plants we grow. Whether you are a retail garden center, a farm stand, or a landscape supply yard, we would love the opportunity to introduce our staff and our plants to you!! If you are not familiar with East Coast Nurseries, or have simply not visited us recently, we cordially invite you to do just that: come see how we’ve grown!!

OUR CATALOGS

East Coast Nurseries is a full-service wholesale only container nursery.  As one of the largest container nurseries in the northeastern United States our plants have become standard inventory in many retail and re-wholesale nurseries throughout Long Island, Westchester county, Connecticut, and the greater New England area.

DEER RESISTANT

All of our deer resistant plants are lovely and attractive. Consider growing one of these plants and flowers that deer
won’t eat to keep your garden space safe.

HOSTAS

One of the most commonly grown plants for the shade. Hosta’s have captured the hearts of gardeners everywhere over the centuries.

HYDRANGEAS

An East Coast favorite! All of our hydrangeas on the ECN select list were chosen for consistently having the best aesthetics and performance over years of observation. Check out our Gold Star selections.

PERENNIALS

Native perennials in the landscape has a beneficial option when planning a site. Native plants adapt to the local climate and soil conditions. They’re more resistant to damage.

NURSERY NATIVES

At East Coast Nurseries we offer many varieties of plants that are acclimated to the local climate and can be used easily here in the northeast. For that purpose we are using the term native in this pamphlet.

ROSES

Our roses range in color from white to various tones of yellow and pink to dark crimson and maroon, with a delightful fragrance that differs with variety and climate.
